Abstract

In 2020 the terminal building of Sultan Syarif Kasim II International Airport, located in Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, has an existing area of ​​36,000 m2 with a capacity of 3.5 million passengers per year. As an increasing of annual passenger growth rates the existing terminal building was in need to be evaluated achieving its requirement standard. This study aims to evaluate and project passenger terminal building requirement in 2020-2035. The multiple linear regressions statistical methodology (econometric) was applied in this study. Passenger volume (pkt) and population (Pdd) historical data were treated as independent variables. The SPSS application program was used to simulate the results. Based on these analyses using Dirjen Perhubungan Udara, (1999) SKEP 347/XII/99 codes (concerning airport planning), it is recommended that it is necessary to develop this airport terminal building up to 54,400 m2 (in 2035) with a capacity to serve 6.2 million passengers per year
